Propecia & Finasteride
Originally FDA-approved for prostate problems, Propecia and Finasteride (as the drug was known as) was discovered to have made a difference in hair growth for men experiencing male patterned baldness. Propecia and Finasteride are not approved for women’s use.
Does Propecia Work?
There is some question as to whether Propecia and Finasteride work or not. In Propecia results from numerous clinical studies, a little over forty percent showed improvement in the re-growth of hair while a little over forty percent showed that there was significant prevention of additional hair loss. The remaining percentage was not affected either way.
In Propecia reviews, it should be noted that this hair formula only works as long as it is taken. You stop taking it and you start to lose more hair and won’t experience re-growth. With Propecia, receding hairlines treated by Finasteride are not really affected. The significant changes happen around the crown area of the head.
Various Forms Of Propecia & Finasteride Side Effects
You can buy generic Propecia or even buy Propecia in other forms such as Proscar or Prosteride. Whether you use the Propecia generic or other cheaper forms of Propecia ensure that the pill form of these drugs does not come in contact with any women who are pregnant.
Propecia can cause birth defects in male fetuses. This is just one of several Propecia side effects in addition to depression, repressed male sexual activity and even gynecomastia also known as enlargement of the male breasts.
You will also experience a condition called Propecia shedding. Often, men will experience a shedding of hair while on Propecia and Finasteride. This is a normal process. If you notice that within the next four to five months after the shedding that new hair growth has not recurred, you will probably want to go ahead and stop treatment as it will likely not be a viable option for you.
It is important to note that it could take several months before you notice any results. Therefore, do not quit after just a few weeks. It could halt any progress your hair has made that had yet to be detected. Plus it is important to remember that hair takes time to grow. So when you use Propecia and Finasteride, do so with your eye on future results not instant gratification. If you want instant gratification, don’t go with Propecia and Finasteride. Choose cheesy looking hair toupees or spray on hair.
